How to become good at anything

The easiest way to become good at anything

Plain and simple the easiest way to be good at anything is to do it everyday.

If you want to become a concert pianist, do it everyday.

If you want to become a happier person, think happier thoughts everyday, do things that make you happy everyday.

Think about it like this, how often do you think Michael Jordan played basketball? Every once in awhile, maybe a few minutes here and there? No, he played every single day for hours and hours.

How often do you think Beethoven played music? Just tinkering randomly here and there? No, he played countless hours every single day.

That is really all there is to it, it is that simple. There is usually no difference between a pro and an amateur other than the amount of time, energy, effort, and practice put into developing a particular skill.

Even the greatest of the great was a beginner once; just you may be right now. However they made the decision, they made the commitment to put in the time and energy that got them to the level of mastery. Everyone starts somewhere; no one is born a master.

So wherever you are right now, no matter what your skill level, start today. Even if it’s only 15 minutes, that is better than nothing. Tomorrow repeat the same process, maybe even add another 10-15 minutes if you can.

Then the next day, repeat the process again. Keep doing this for a few months, staying consistent with your time and energy, and you will be amazed at the skill and dexterity that will develop with your new skill.

Just remember, every master was once a beginner, everyone starts somewhere, so I want you to start from right now, from this day forward. Take it one step at a time, one day at a time, and surely you will soon be a master of your particular skill.
